The article examines the review of the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights on China's initial report on the implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESR) or the Covenant. Upon reviewing China's report, the committee has urged China to secure that legal and judicial training takes full account of the justifiability of the rights contained in the ICESR and foster the use of the Covenant as a source of law in domestic courts. China has also been suggested to include information concerning case law on the application of the Covenant in its next periodic report.
