Sirle Bürkland est Professeur Assistant de Comptabilité et Contrôle de Gestion à HEC Paris. Ses domaines de recherche comprennent l'apprentissage organisationnel, les progiciels de gestion intégrés (PGI), et les changements de la comptabilité analytique. Elle a obtenu son Doctorat de Comptabilité de l'Université de Vaasa en Finlande en 2009. Avant de rejoindre HEC, elle était membre du corps professoral de l'Université de Tartu en Estonie. En plus de ses activités académiques, elle a travaillé en tant que comptable et directrice financière dans l'industrie de la biotechnologie. Elle est membre du Réseau Européen pour la Recherche en Changement Organisationnel et Comptable (European Network for Research in Organisational and Accounting Change - ENROAC), et de l'Association Européenne de Comptabilité (European Accounting Association - EAA). En 2009, elle a reçu le Prix EIASM pour sa contribution au Développement Théorique et Pratique de Biens Immatériels et du Capital Intellectuel (Development of Intangibles and Intellectual Capital Theory and Practice).
