Back Prof. Moncef CHEIKH-ROUHOU

Moncef CHEIKH-ROUHOU holds an MBA and a PhD from the University of California at Berkeley and a Mechanical Engineering degree from Ecole Centrale de Paris.

He is presently a Professor of Managerial Economics and International Finance.
Since he has returned to HEC School of Management, Paris as a full-time Professor affiliate, he has been teaching in the MBA and Executive MBA programs and he has been developing new courses and seminars.

Throughout his career, he has kept on teaching at different universities in Europe, the Mediterranean region and North America. He has been a member of the Permanent Professoral Body of HEC Paris. 

Professor Cheikh-Rouhou's interests include Economics, Financial, Strategic and Educational implications of multinational projects. In that quality, he is involved with European and North-American think tanks elaborating action-oriented business strategies. More specifically, he is interested in the establishment of strategic alliances between firms from Europe and from the emerging world with a European inclination.

In his qualities of Founder and of Chief Executive, he has been active in Institution Building and Financial Institutions Management:

He has founded and managed for more than a decade a large state-owned investment bank in the Mediterranean area. Then he has created and chaired the first merchant bank in the Maghreb area with an equity participation of the IFC of the World Bank Group.
In both qualities, he has directed teams specialized in Project and International Finance. In this context, advanced and innovative financial techniques were developed in the region (such as PPP, Advanced Trade Finance, Venture Capital, Participatory and Microfinance) and several large projects were undertaken.

He has founded and directed the Development Finance Institute (IFID) aimed at training graduate students hired by Banks, Insurance companies and Ministries of Finance of the Area.

Last but not least, as the largest shareholder of a privately-owned press group, he has been the director in charge of the publication of the dailies and the weeklies for more than seven years.

He is a member of the French Association of the Advancement of Sciences (AFAS) and a member of Scientific or Geo-Strategic committees of institutions such as the Foundation “Sharing Knowledge”.
