Mrs. Valérie Gauthier, Professor at HEC School of Management since 1989, was appointed Associate Dean of the HEC MBA Program in November 2002.

What do you think are the main assets of the HEC MBA?

The HEC MBA offers a true multi-cultural networking experience. Every year, the HEC MBA recruits 200 top-level candidates worldwide to transform good managers into international leaders and potential CEOs. Currently, over 70% of our participants are of international origin, with 40 nationalities represented. Each student has access to the quality HEC learning experience. Multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural study groups as well as the in-company projects ensure cross-cultural exchange as each participant is immersed in this international environment.

The 16-month, 2 academic-year MBA consists of a core program,
followed by an 8 month-personalized program with a choice of seven tracks and about 80 electives. By focusing on interpersonal skills, leadership, and project management, participants acquire not only the analytical know-how and decision-making tools of general management but also the personal and environmental skills needed for business and personal success, the heritage of our French/European roots.

How do you intend to develop the HEC MBA to make it even more attractive?

We will go on promoting the HEC MBA brand name on both domestic and international markets through intensive communication aimed at high potential executives and companies worldwide.

The international positioning of the HEC MBA program will also be enhanced by a further increase in the quality and selectivity of our high-caliber admissions process and systematic reviews.

Finally, the HEC MBA continues to implement innovative and multidisciplinary teaching approaches as well as enhancing the program with access to “social responsibility”, “ethics” or “growth management” issues.
